Default Gulf conditions today?

Is NOAA correct? Anybody have eyes on the gulf today? Thinking about heading out.

Went out this morning and the pass was crazy...pulled a 180 on that plan. Went and found bull reds and caught those instead. At the beach with family now and it is pretty calm. If it looked like this it this morning I would have gone out in a heart beat and had some snappah for dinner.

Went at 0730 pass bumpy 5 ft swell hardly noticed it. Calmed a little by noon very doable. If your diving wait a couple more days for the mix from storm to settle. 2 ft vis on bottom.

Sorry I wasn't posting I had one hand on the wheel and the other on the throttle. I got to the pass about 945am, saw the breakers coming over the bar at Ft. Pickens and the breakers going off on the bar on the west side as you exit the Pass, thought about turning around, figured it was still too messy....

But I have seen those days when the Pass was the sloppiest part of the trip, so I pushed out - was going to the Farewell bouys and then decide.... by the time I got out past the tide line just beyond the Mass, it was widely spaced smooth rollers, went 3/4 throttle almost the whole way to some snapper spots about 12 miles from the Pass. Was really quite nice. Had a hard time finding cigar minnows, the Pass was too snotty and the Mass didn't have any schools at the time, so I just headed out with my 2 cigar minnows and my shrimp and squid from Outcast. I think I would have been able to score bigger fish with the live bait but I had a limited window to be out today, so I settled for my two 19-inchers and headed home.

Nice day, got some keepers, but OH MY GOOD GRACIOUS the hordes of good-sized triggerfish I had to wade through. I do hope they relax on the damn triggers because they are really getting to be worse than pinfish. PINFISH! Seriously.

Gulf was nice today, much nicer than the Pass would have had you believe.
