Are you talking the gulf side or the actual inlet on the sound side?

Gorton didn’t do it for us locally, but I’d bet that this storm pushed them in. Maybe not to Pcola but east of Destin should be loaded. As a kid we got a couple grouper limits out of my canoe from Lanark village after storms came through

Those days are gone, hope I'm wrong but there most likely isn't many Grouper left offshore in this day and time. I can remember back 20 years ago Diving on the three barges in the winter and seeing 20 to 30 big Groupers just sitting in one spot to get the limit without even moving. Now in winter it's good if you even see 1 or 2 fleeing at the sight of a diver.

I firmly believe that we will see a major increase in the grouper off Pensacola. Not only did the cat 4 storm produce huge waves from the SE that day, it was real rough (8-13 ft) for the 2 days prior to the actual storm. Supposedly, 2/3rds of a wave is underwater so in theory, all of those grouper in 50-60' of water off the forgotten coast were probably moved a good bit west by those huge waves and currents. I think it'll take a couple of weeks for all of those displaced fish to take up residency over here on structure but hopefully it will get good again. I've said for years that a storm like this is what we needed to see more grouper over our way again. My heart aches for all of those people who lost everything to the east of us but selfishly maybe this could be one bright spot we get out of this. Time will tell, and there is only one way to find out. Tight lines

I would imagine most of the shopping cart reefs in shallow water around here have been “redistributed”. Time for strike lines to remap and sell them again. Yay

Another thing is with the number of public reefs going down there is no reason for the grouper to school up on a single reef like years ago.
Strikelines most likely wont be looking for more reefs. He is building a restaurant,
