Default Grass flats near Bla Alex?

I normally fish on the Sound side near Oriole Beach but have walked the dock at Bal Alex. It seems to be more sand than anything else in that area. Are there any good spots for trout/reds in that area? P.S. - Taking a Kayak

The dock lights at night hold some good trout. Or day time head west towards Garcon and fish mullet schools for trout and redfish.

I have caught some nice trout and a couple reds around the docks to the east of Bal Alex. Like Flatspro said, fish the mullet schools. I have done best when the water is up and I catch most of my fish in between the docks and close to the shore. If there are no mullet in the area that you're fishing then you need to move. Throw top water at first light and then switch to mirrodines or flukes on a jig head when the top water bite dies or slows down.
