Default Grady Brown Park - Grand Opening 10-23-19

Grand Opening and dedication ceremony, 10am 10-23-19

Located on US 331, north side of Choctawhachee Bay.

Note the handicap kayak launch facility. Have never seen one before.

This park was made possible with left over sales tax money that helped finance the new 331 bridge. The money had to be spent related to the the bridge. The tax was approved by voter referendum

People already parking vehicles with no trailer in the launch ramp @ 0:53.

That looks like a nice park, hope there's enough parking for the non boaters.
And for once, a great use of tax money spent where it was supposed to go.

Default Update video

Great weather for the grand opening this morning. About 150-200 people showed up. The first boat to launch showed up right after the ceremony. Nearby neighbor I assume.
They still have some work to do plus waiting for Corps permit to finish the sand point like the rest of the basin area, sea wall, etc. Basin is about 5 feet deep I was told.

Video doesn't do it justice. Glad they have a hefty camera security system in place. This place has some very nice amenities you don't normally see in a public park on the water in the Panhandle.

First boat to launch

Spoke to a county official about those palms. They were spared when dozens of others and oaks were removed. Maybe they will spruce them up soon.
