Default Generators

Some on here may remember my cry for help back in the spring regarding my Northern Lights 12KW genset. A friend helped me get it going for a good price, but it was a band-aid fix. The exciter end and some diodes finally quit.
I spoke with an outfit in California called "Hardy Diesel". This jack-leg couldn't even cross over my Northern Lights model and cross it to a simular end. I let this crook lead me around for several days, until we finally got the "right" end that would work on my unit. He couldn't even suppy a blueprint of the unit he wanted to sell me and refered me to the factory. After getting the blue print, I discovered the end was 5" longer than the NL unit in my boat. The mounts wouldn't even work. Oh, he never mentioned until I was almost ready to order, that it would take about 12 business days for the end to arrive. Awesome.
After that debachle, I was refered to Gulf South Armature in Houma, LA.
Since Northern Lights, Inc. wanted $6200.00 for an end, I was thrilled when Mike Smith told me he could repair our end for less than $3000.00. Actually, it came to less than $1500 and I purchased a new regulator from them for another $600, but I'm here to tell you, if you have an a/c output problem on your generator, these are the people to see. It took about 5 days for them to fix it. Customer support is TOP SHELF!

Burndt, I haven't dealt with generator parts but I am dealing with metal sellers to buy metal for fencing a large piece of property so I can appreciate you getting all kind of answers that are not helpful. We have found very few who are forthcoming with info in the metal business.

Another fine example of why its better to deal with a Coon-Ass run business in Houma LA than a bunch of liberals on the Left Coast!

A Left Coast repair would of involved a particulate filter, EGR valve and a smog pump to make it compliant, along with carbon credit charges and a donation to PETA.
