that's how i started also---or didn't start---i pulled on the starter rope more than anything else. but when she ran, i was king of the coast!

LOL.....you were uptown with a 7.5 Elgin which was popular in it's day. My Merc had the same setup, slide throttle, gas tank on top, and reverse was the motor turn-around. Talk about control....those old style motors were heads and shoulders over what we have today.
