Default Ford 2000 E 350 Van Transm.

5.4 Gas Engine-- When carrying a heavy load & towing a 19 ft. center console boat, do I need to turn the overdrive off or is it ok to leave it on ?. Do not want to mess up my transmission. Thanks for your Help...

Thanks already have extra transm. cooler, so I will just keep the overdrive turned off when towing. When not towing I will leave it turned on Unless going up big hills or driving in the mountains, I'am second owner so I don"t have an owners book. Thanks again for your help......

Yw. Those trannies are notorious for overheating while towing and puking all the fluid out. Good thing on the aftermarket cooler
