Default Flesh Eating Bacteria

Here is a video I worked on for UWF about the flesh eating bacteria. Here is some research UWF is doing.

I slept at a Holiday Inn a while back, and I also asked my dermatologist about FEB last week.

He says the bacteria has been there forever, and the horror stories about it are sensationalized in the media just like every other odd-ball thing is nowadays. It used to happen when we were kids (50'S) and still does, and it is still as rare as it always was.

It's known that the more alcohol you drink, the less likely your going to get infected. Twice as likely if you set around and type on the computer all day.
Getsome, SHatten, 60hertz and 5 others like this.

Skip may be onto something, last Saturday boating, my girl ingested some rum and later in the day slipped on that last stair coming into the sound from Island Culture Tiki Hut. She was graceful enough to avoid complete face plant into the sound; albeit without consequence slicing the bottom side of her foot. That's when I realized the absence of the first aid kit on my vessel but guess what? Remaining portion of the bottle of rum was used to irrigate the open wound and avoided the tragedy of the flesh eating bacteria. So, I'm a firm believer in Skips theory!

Did she irrigate the open wound from the outside or the inside?

My neighbor was infected with a flesh eating virus while cutting his grass. Hospital said it was an airborne virus that landed on his sweaty arms and went into his pores. He had no cuts or skin abrasions on his arms. Almost lost his arm but after 8 weeks in hospital and skin grafts off his legs he is home and doing good. He was very very lucky they saved his arm, so beware......

Hearing things like this makes me shake my damn head. So if stuff like this is air born and can happen any time, why worry? I'm going to run as hard and fast as I can till I hit the wall, then I'll think about it. Glad your neighbor is doing better. Have you moved yet?
