Default Fishing around Seagrove beach in July / August

Hi from Glasgow Scotland!

I'll be in Seagrove Beach around 26th July - 9th August and would love to do some (a lot) of fishing..

I usually fish small streams for wild trout around Scotland but have fished alaska, California, Minnesota and visit Slovenia regularly..

Should I be taking a 9ft 9wt and leave my 8ft 4wt at home?

Where's good to go and what should I bring?

Thanks..
Neil..

Welcome to the forum and the area. Bring the 9ft 9wt - I don't know what that is but it sounds bigger than the other one and our fish are big. If you don't want to waste your vacation time I would advise a charter trip and finding one should be easy. You may also want to try out the okaloosa island pier on the gulf. I would advise going out and watching one morning before you come back to fish....just to kinda get a feel for it
Good luck and Cheerios!

just looked it up and - of course, its a fly rod!! Ive fished freshwater with a floating fly here but never salt but I here it is a blast! and the good news is there is a fly fishing section on this forum where you can do a little research and probably gets some tips on what equipment to bring and a good inshore guide recommendation. Be sure to post and let us know how your trip turns out!!
