Default Fishfinder/GPS power question

I have a question about powering a new fishfinder/GPS unit. I currently have a 50hp Johnson motor which runs off of a deep cycle battery. I am not powering anything else off this battery except the motor. I was looking at getting a Lowrance Mark 4 fishfinder/waypoint device and was wondering if I can just tap into my current battery.

I just don't want to have issues with the unit draining too much power and not being able to start the motor after fishing for a few hours.

This is the unit I am considering - http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/st...__?N=852569004

No problem. They use very little power. I would suggest a second battery for safety's sake though.

You should have no problems doing that . Those units draw very little current.
