Default Drain Plug Replacement With LED Light

I saw this in a magazine and am considering buying one. It is an LED light that replaces your drain plug. If it is as bright as the picture it might be pretty cool. The price is $300 dollars. Just wondering if anyone has one. I imagine the motor might block some of the light if it is not trimmed up. Anybody see any other plusses or minuses I haven't listed? Seems like it might be a pain to drain your boat- the web site says to disconnect the power before removing the light- I guess switching it off would suffice?

Thanks Orion- I did not realize someone beat me to the punch. I still have not decided if I will get one or not.

Those have been around for a while now.

Expensive for what it is and if you pull your drain plug all the time like I do....would be a PITA.

I saw some in the back of Sportfisher Mag that were going from $89 - $150 depending on how bright you wanted it to be.As far as the motor blocking some of the light I think it's a good thing so you are not blinded.Sorry if thats what you were saying.I want some for this summer but was kinda waiting to see if anyone had more feed back first.

Mdrobe,

Save your money and buy your lights from coastalnightlights.com We have the blue LED's on our boat and they are freaking bright! If I remember correctly the price was $100 a light. Probably the best money we have ever spent on our boat considering any snapper fishing we do is at night. I am not affiliated with the website I mentioned, but I am a customer who is very satisfied with the product. We also bought the spreaders from him as well and according to Swhiting they are too bright...lol
