Default Downed channel marker

A small tug boat stopped us coming out of Bahia Mar and said a barge? Knocked down a channel marker and to be careful not to exit the channel early, or we may hit it?
Anyone here if this is accurate.

Hmm, IDK where the Bahia Mar is? But a quick google search shows it's in Fort Lauderdale. Maybe someone on the East Coast knows about it?
But if it's around the NWF Panhandle, it would help if you would narrow down the location. js

Where are you? I have lived in Pcola for 71 years and it's been called Bahia Mar as long as I remember. Then, anyone who remembers the 60s wasn't there and in the 50s I was too young to notice.

I came in through the channel Sunday evening. Almost all the red buoys were gone. Channel is fine, but I would stay close to the green buoys going in and out until they fix it.

I noticed this too yesterday. The bouy they had to replace the red marker is now gone, so there are not really any red markers to show the channel currently. I just watched the water where it goes from dark to mud colored and stayed in the dark part.

I didn’t know it , but several rior to tug warning us, my son left channel early and hit it , broke off his skeg and bent his prop. I am the way to accu prop to pick it up now. Very lucky he didnt take his whole foot off!! I dont know why they didnt mark it as a hazard immediately after it came down . Before the tug warned us, we cut across the same area in my boat and missed it. If anyone hears of the hazard being removed or corrected please Post it.

Watch that whole area...apparently that tug took out both the red buoy and all the red daymarkers. Nothing but the green side showing on the bayou chico entrance.
