Default Destin Cigar Minnows

Just thought I would pass along...if it is calm around the surf, you DO NOT need to buy live bait. The cigs have been stacked up by the tons right around buoy depth off the beaches, especially near the crystal beach area. Just my observation from kayak fishing these past few times.

What size are they?
Net or Sabiki?
How many did you get?
Were they on top or down deep?
Male or Female?

That was a typo. The buoys nearest to the beach, about 15 feet. They have honestly been everywhere near there...all the way from the buoys out to the color change

Good size ones. I always just sabiki them and catch 20 or so for the yak in about 5 minutes and go. You could follow the schools around and catch them all day long if you really wanted. They are stacked so thick they are busting on top, all the way to the bottom. If you had a cast net I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem.

Thanks. Knew they had to be somewhere, they're not around the jetties.
