Default ????? destin boomed and closed??????

I hear that the Destin pass will be closed during an incoming tide.....

It appears that low tide is around noon on Thursday then high tide is a little after 2PM.....a very fast change....

But it looks like a neap tide from Thursday into Friday........ That should drive the bureaucrats crazy.........

So, I'm gonna fish from about 6 AM Thursday until 8:30Am.... This seems like outgoing tide to me........

Any other thoughts??

Daily News5:30 P.M.: Okaloosa County Public Safety Director Dino Villani announced the Destin Pass would be closed Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Coast Guard booms would be deployed across the pass and at the Destin Bridge.

The time was chosen because that?s when the tide is high and water from the gulf is moving into the pass.

The pass will be opened again at low tide when water is flowing in the other direction.

The tidal flow splits around the Brooks Bridge in Ft Walton. Everything west runs through the Pensacola pass, everything East runs through the Destin Pass. If enough oil gets all the way down to the Landing in Ft Walton, I am sure there will be some contamination in CHoctahatchee Bay, but that is a long way for the oil to flow and there are some mighty narrow areas between Navarre and Ft Walton that could easily be blocked.
