Default Dehooking devices?

I thought in 2014 they took these off the regs? They're on again.

I guess this is a good time to make a plug for a homemade fish release. We should at least make an effort to save the smaller Snapper. This is a very crude pic but you get the idea. Put a big snap swivel(reversed) on top to make it easier to attach. Crude but works.

If your talking fish descending device, we use these. http://seaqualizer.com. That and about 3 to 4 pounds of lead depending on size of the fish. You can let them go at 3 different depths.

Use stuff around the house, or spend $55? Hmm, I believe I know what route I would go.

Nice home made device. Did you file off the barb? Hard to see in the photo.

Yes. Hook the fish on the top lip from the outside. Open the bail/lever, drop the weight and fish at the same time. When it's at depth or bottom just tug and reel. Works great and saves fish!
