Default Can I connect my 2 Garmin units?

I've been searching but haven't found the answer yet. Can I connect my Garmin 840XS and 70DV so they share information and work together on my boat? I would like to use the G2 card in both machines. Both have an ethernet port, one has NMEA2000 port.

Yes you can. The units will share sonar and chart information. You need to use a Garmin marine network cables. The 70dv is not supporting N2K.

Right I'm not 100 percent sure that you will be able to synchronize your user data (waypoints etc.) via network but sonar and chart data works. You'll also be able to use two transducers (one with each unit). So if you use the Downview transducer with the 70DV and for example a Chirp transducer, like the TM150m on the 840, you'll be able to see downview, traditional sonar and chirp on the 840.
