After much debate last fall this is what I bought, I did add some blue grease to the inside of the reel but the drag is supposed to be sealed, I have been in the surf a couple times, out of my Kayak a few times rinsed it off no problems thus far.

If you're ever in OB, stop by our shop on canal rd. I stick quite a few different combos and usually have several under 200.00.

I'll second stopping by SAMs Stop and Shop in Orange Beach- they have several different ones to look at. If you catch up with Chris, he'll hook you up with one!

Chris sold me a great Ross combo and spoke highly of the much cheaper Echo Ion reels. I later ordered one of the Ions and slapped it on a cheapo rod, wouldn't you know it, its the one i use most.
