Default Cabin fever

You ever spend 4 days straight with an 88 year old woman who doesn't want a tv or radio on, doesn't want to talk, the kids to be loud or for you to play on your phone? I'm going nuts.

We got 18" of snow at our house and can't go home. Neighbor says there are 4' + drifts across our road and no way to get to the house until ot melts off. We may have to find a new place to be stranded at. Did I mention her super robo hearing aids?

Oh I can't play on my phone either.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

No, but have spent time with several who I wished would be a bit MORE like that (especially the talking part).

Hang in there!

Sorry to hear that, that would really suck.
But that is why I drive a 4 x 4 Chevy Silverado, and keep a set of tire chains in the back of it all winter, I love my in-laws dearly, but even when We come down to Foley, Al to visit them, those tire chains are still in the back of my truck. when it is time to go home, it is time to go home. and I am going.

Sounds like the joy of Christmas...

Memories that will last a life time.

Time to move down south.

Default Hmmm, have some fun

Get everyone to act like you are talking, but just move your mouths. That super duper hearing aide will explode when you talk normally after she makes adjustments Then serve a load of beans for a meal, feed them to the dogs, cats - you get the point. Make it a memory to remember!

Its the thought that counts!

Hope this brings some relief to you (silently) just thinking about it!

Cheers,

Bob

It's called social interaction. Lots of us seem to have forgotten how to do it.

Not quite sure why she "doesn't want to talk, the kids to be loud" but I certainly understand her other points.

Turn off the TV, put the iPhone away, and spend some quality time with her...I'll bet she'll open up.
