Default Buying a travel trailer no title new help asap

In short im looking at buying a travel trailer. The seller can't find the title, plus he never titled it in his name (just held onto the title). The trailer is located in MS. I live in Florida. How hard is it going to be to obtain a title?

Can't answer your question, but if it falls through, I'm putting my 30' camper on the market soon.

Sounds like a bunch of hoops ... I'd keep looking unless he can work out a clean title.

Call the tax office and ask for advice. They will tell you step by step what you need.

Get serial number call manufacturer and find out who bought it. What does New mean title, camper what. If it's a good deal it's worth checking out.

I lived in Biloxi for forty years. Back in the 70's this would have been no sweat. Just file for a lost title. Now it's not so easy. If you file for one now it's going to be mailed to the original owner

This, been thru this with a boat and nothing short of a nightmare. Put it back on seller after you determine best route to go or walk.

Jeez I dealt with a lost title for an old car and it was a pain. I used a company called broadway title. Part of the problem is the guy your buying from never transferred in his name. Just another layer of pain. Good luck

Just do a lost title search with the VIN #. I'm assuming he bought the trailer used and just never transferred it. It will cost under a 100 to file for a lost title so depending on the condition and how bad you want it, it may be worth just leaving it alone....

How old is it ?
In Alabama if over 20 years old they will only issue tag registration. Don't know about Mississippi
