BROXSON TO TOUR CENTRAL BP CLAIMS OFFICE IN DUBLIN, OHIO
The Florida House of Representatives Economic Affairs Committee will conduct a hearing in Tallahassee on Friday, Feb. 18th to investigate the Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF) and the oil spill claims process. GCCF Administrator and BP Claims Czar, Ken Feinberg, will be present at the meeting to defend his methodology.

In preparation for this hearing, State Representative Doug Broxson (R-District 1) will travel to Dublin, Ohio on Monday to tour the office that currently serves as the nerve center for processing claims. The GCCF has 33 claims offices along the gulf coast that intake each claim and forward them to the Ohio facility for review. Broxsonís office along with other state agencies have received an astounding number of complaints from frustrated claimants who feel that the central office in Dublin is not equipped to handle the hundreds of thousands of claims filed to date. These complaints also suggest that the volume of claims overwhelmed the claims facility to the point that 151,000 claims were purged from the system in December of last year. These claimants received a generic denial letter from the GCCF with no explanation or information on how to proceed.

Wow, never heard that. I was at a meeting in Gulf Breeze on 1/6 and he sounded like he was hell bent on making this right for the citizens affected by this mess...... Either way, we can only hope that this is cleaned up, cleared up, and made whole for all who have legitimate damages.... God Bless all of the fine taxpayers of NW Florida...........

I think things will change when they tell him to pay and quit asking because all he is going to do is continue to say is he is going to try.
