Default Bowfishing question

I have been intrested in trying my hand in bowfishing. I have several bows I use for hunting, i was wondering if its possable and easy to modify one of them into a bowfishing bow or if it would be in my benefit to just save up and buy one. Any info/ advice is greatly appreciated

Default RE: Bowfishing question

You can use just about any type of bow that you want, as long as it has a screw-in mount in the front(where you'd normally put a stabilizer for example). We use regular compound hunting bows like Browning and PSE. One guy even uses a recurve! Take a look at to find the equipment you need. I'm sure there's places on the coast you can find this stuff. BassPro if nowhere else. Make sure you use a rest that will allow the line to pass freely. Lots of fun!
