Default Boga grips

So I've managed to lose my old pair of rapala fish grabbers I've had for a while. They served me fine. Like the boga's they had a scale. Not sure how accurate they were. Everytime I weighed a fish I did it with my digital scale, which wasn't often. So my question is why boga's? They are 2x the price of the Berkley's. The Berkley even has a built in digital scale. Do they hold fish that much better? Is the scale dead nuts precise on weight?

The quality of material in the boga is superior. I have had one over 10 years now and still looks brand new. No rust whatsoever. Also I am pretty sure you can get a boga certified for records

There’s no comparison in quality and accuracy between a BG and any other gripper/scale on the market. They’ll last a lifetime if you don’t drop em overboard and can be pre-certified by the IGFA.

I use these. http://www.lucidfishing.com/store/p1...-In_Scale.html

They aren’t Boga grips but pretty darn good. I have had mine for about 6 years ,mostly fresh water but they have seen limited salt usage. No issues at all. There is a scale on them but with my eyes that scale should be Braille. Ha, that rhymes.

The seem like a very quality tool. I knew people could use them for IGFA records, but is that the only scale they will accept? I've heard with the boga's you have to get them calibrated or tested every so often for the scale to be accepted.

Bogas are nice. I don't think I'd bother with another brand. I bet mine last a looooooong time. ALready had 'em since 2015.

Regardless of the type of scale you have, you have to have it certified every year to be designated an official IGFA weigh station.

Bogas are great. The quality is outstanding and they'll last a lifetime. There's no way the scale is going to be precise enough for the record books but gets you close enough. Of course I rarely weigh my fish because I've found that almost all scales are a few pounds on the low side.

I know what you mean. For once I'd like my fish to weigh a little more on a scale and myself to weigh a little less on one.
