Anyone know the best place to launch and how busy it gets? I was thinking Bayou Texar but idk how busy it normally is on the 4th. We have a 2 year old and I can't keep her happy on the boat for hours so it would be a last min. launch. I even thought about fishing and then having grandma bring her to us, but we would have to take all the gear out first and it would be my luck it disappears from the truck. I don't like having her on the boat with tackle....sharp objects and toddlers don't mix. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a good plan here.
There will be allot of boats with the same plan.

Tiffany, depending on the size of the boat, I would try launching at bayview park. It will be crowded but you can always park in the surrounding neighborhood.

Never put in there. Is it less crowded then the ramp off Cervantes?

Yes, usually. But the parking spots can fill up quickly with non boaters at certain times.

The issue I ran into launching there last year was it was very rough in the bay, so there was probably 30+ boats in the inlet there by the launch trying to watch the show. No one had nav lights anchor lights or respect. Which made it fun to try to get to & from the launch. I didn't even stay for the show. I didn't feel safe fighting it

Bayou Texar is a close shot for you to get to the bay area for fireworks. That is where I put in when I go by boat. I agree with the above post. Make sure that your boat lights are working properly, watch out for the drunks and crazies, and please keep a life jacket on the baby. Unless you go early and stay late you will run into a lot of others launching their boats and looking for parking. If you take fishing gear around the toddler just make sure the hooks, lures, etc are inside a hard case with a hard to get into latch. At 2 years she might be better staying with Grammie and enjoy the fireworks next year.
