I have my boat insured thru progressive and I have $2500.00 in fishing equipment coverage, never made a claim so I was curious as to how it would work ???? Would I have to have receipts for gear like rods and reels if they were ever stolen ??????

No you usually don't need receipts. Put everything you use on the boat and take pictures. I had a claim in 2004 and no receipts were required.

I just had an insured have lightning strike his boat and burn down to the water line and he had the full alotment for fishing equiptment on his policy and did get SOME money from Progressive but there are many details I can't discuss in public. If you want the details and how to make sure you get what your paying for PM me and I will walk you through the process to endorse your policy correctly so you get paid for your stuff instead of having to fight for everything.

pictures of all your stuff is the best thing to have. i am with boat us and they have all the pictures that i have.so if something happen all i have to do is say this, this and that was what they stole.pictures don't lie.
