Default Blues on the Beach and Barry

Waves 2-3ft in the Pensacola bay inshore and up to 14ft in the Gulf through Sunday. Small craft advisories, tropical storm warnings. Let's see how many bad episodes of poor judgment and negligent boat captains happen this weekend.

Probably a heck of a lot less than bad judgement from people entering the gulf under double red flags. Just sayin....

We cancelled our dock reservation in Little Sabine because of the weather. Didn't want to deal with the run through Mobile and Pensacola Bays. Glad we did.

So by typical PFF wave measurements, it's going to be 4-6 in the bay and about 30 in the gulf.

I felt kind of sorry for the young coast guard during the show yesterday. They were rocking and rolling.

This was the first year since 2004 we didn’t go by boat to the show.

Today we chose to crash at the Hilton. We just valet parked, went in and had some lunch. Went out to the bar and dragged a couple of chairs out to the beach.

Got buzzed at the bar, got buzzed by a few high speed low altitude passes, and then “poof” the Blues were gone.

Albeit short, the Blues always impress.

We returned to the bar, had a few more, then our DD drove us home.

Zero debauchery, zero hassle, zero boat ramp drama, easy peasy.

Enjoyed it, but it was BORING!

Might do it again tomorrow, might just wait for November and pray for better weather.

We rented a slip for a few days to see the show. Slowest I've seen it in years for the show week.

Honestly, having been to both for the last couple years, the show at Pensacola NAS is a better show and less hassle. In addition to the Blues, which are always amazing, the F-22 demonstration last year was very impressive as well.
