Default BGE Christmas Dinner

This is my Turkey and ham for Christmas dinner. We have to pack it for travel tomorrow, so it had to be cooked a little early. I skinned it, coated it with honey mustard mixture, and added the bacon to add a little flavor and to help keep it moist.

I stuffed a cornish hen in the stomach of the turkey as a surprise for my grandchildren. Not sure how they will react to Granddaddy cooking a pregnant turkey?

I jusy hope it is as good as it smells.

Litecatch wanted a report. Well, it was really good. The meat was moist, and tasty. I believe the honey mustard and bacon really gives the turkey a better flavor.

BTW, my grandchildren were not overly impressed with the cornish hen I had stuffed in the turkey. They wouldn;t even think about eating that baby turkey!

Dayyam that looks good. I do all of my smokin on a weber but that BGE looks like its hapennin'. I bet that mustard gives it a good taste too! I always rub mine with real mayonaise before I season it and it rally keeps it moist too!

The turkey was great, Ham was better!

I beiieve the bacon and honey mustard gives the turkey more flavor than a normal bird.

The grandchildren weren't overly impressed with the cornish hen I hid in the stomach of the turkey. They didn't want to eat that baby turkey!

here are a couple of pictures of meals from my BGE.

I think the limits to what you can cook on an egg are only limited to your imagination !!

Here is a Rib Roast I did the other night, got some Southern Flavor from Sky, and went to town.

Thanksgiving 2009, Pecan Smoked, AppleWood Bacon wrapped Turkey, with a little Olive Oil on the skin, turned out Perfect

We do Pizza and a Movie every Friday night that I am off from work...here's a big ole' "trash pie" that I did. We have actually started to do a bunch of little ones, every body gets to top their own pizza, and slide it onto the egg. We do some on a pizza stone, and some straight onto the grill, either way, we have absolutely no left overs !!!

Anybody thinking about getting an egg and has no idea what food preparred on an egg can taste like, let me know !! For a bottle of Rum, I'll have you up to the house, cook youa meal fit for a king and send you to see Sky over at Escambia Electric Motors, so you can get your own !!

By-the-way, this is a serious offer !! I love to cook, I love to do it on my egg, and would love to introduce somebody to a new way to cook their meals !!
