Suggestion: Go to Florida-Offshore.com .. open Bluewater Supermap.. If the contours aren't already displayed, click Control + F5..then Details tab across the top to select Bathymetry data. Zoom in on what you want to see. Now, on your keyboard, do a print screen (Fn key+ Print Screen key). In your Paint program, paste that screenshot you just took. Now print it outand you can take it with you in your boat folder.

Default RE: Bathymetry Chart Question

ReelFinatical - thanks for the link! I just joined Florida-Offshore and am waiting for the email link to arrive so I can look at Supermap.

Along the same lines of what you're talking about, you can get a CD from www.KivaConsulting.com that has hyper-accurate color 3D of the Gulf Of Mexico. You look at some bottom topography that looks fishy, move your cursor to the spot and click - it gives you the lat/lon.

I'm not saying one is better than the other. Some people collect stamps and coins -I collect charts from every source I can get my paws on. THen I pore over every charts' detail for an area I want to fish. Some charts will have the detail I want and some won't for a particular area. But by researching every source, I cover all the bases and find the information I need.

Meanwhile, the east coast of Florida has good coverage by Top Spot Charts and Homeport Charts. THese are laminated waterproof charts with amazing bathymetric detail.

Thanks,

Catch
