Default Amazon 309m level wind... loose screws

I was reeling in a stretch today and noticed the reel felt loose on the reelseat , I started looking and the 2 screws that hold the reel body to the base plate on the right side were gone. just a heads up . I checked my other 2 reels and the screws were loose on those as well.

I had an old 209 or 309 shear the front two screws off while fighting a fish. Lost the fish, but think it was a large ray. The front two screws sheared and make the whole reel rock forward on the mount. Damnedest thing...

Never heard that before. Bad screws?? Maybe they can be replaced with another set of stainless screws. Might be worth looking into. Sometimes things happen.
I know a lot of people that like the Penn Battle, but I tried one... and its just falling apart- literally! Don't figure?!?

I worked on 6 of them lately adding the 5 drag washer upgrade and yes every screw was loose. Especially on the clutch lever.

Are they stripping out or just loosening? Just getting loose, try a dab of lock-tite on them.

Used mine for the first time the other day when I had a 6-7 year kid out. For $11 I don't care if it goes overboard. 2 screws fell out on deck. The rest were loose. I checked my other reels and they were loose too. I tightened them all but I may go back and Loctite them. The reel worked fine though.
