Default Alabama river bass ????

Headed to fish the Alabama river first weekend of April in a gentleman's fishing tournament with some friends and haven't fresh water fished in years, any tips on what lures / live bait, where to fish (in the shallows / sloughs or deep ) ????????

I would throw a white 3/8 oz spinnerbait around cover in the shallows. Miss a strike, and immediately throw a plastic worm in the swirl.

What part of the river? Montgomery area? Camden? South end?

Best tip I can give you is to go ahead and start praying that the moron's controlling the waterstages will let it stay within 10' one way or the other for more than 24hrs.

Then you can worry about fishing.

Good luck either way though.
