Default 50 Mile wide patch of oil headed for the keys

I will go out and scout aroung our area in a day or two. For those that may not know the authorities are talking about an evacuation of the Gulf coast, 50 -200 miles inland (wonder if they are considering the nuke option). I saw a mass evacuation figure of 40 -60 million. For what it's worth!!

Huh! Mass evacutation would be a nitemare.I am sure a nuclear device isn't out of the question but I would think it would be if all else fails.

Not trying to shoot the messenger but I would like to know what "authorities" are calling, prepping, mentioning an evacuation.

Where are you getting your info? I've seen some of this on blog sites but that's it, nothing really credible.

the evacuation myth is just that, a myth. they wont be evacuating the Gulf Coast. Don't get caught up in the hype.

That is pure speculation on your part. I would be interested in where you are getting your facts about a so called evacuation.

The situation is already terrible. Lets not spread unfounded BS and get folks even more upset. I am already scared of what the rest of my life and my children's lives will be like.

It's called "Operation Swift Fox". Now the idea of it being feasible is in deep question by even the conspiracy theorists. Evacuation on biblical proportions. Unlikely, but are they ballsy enough? Or stupid enough to try? Maybe. Time will tell i suppose. Don't write anything off is what i say. Take all possibilities into consideration. Just my two cents.

There has been a religious group for several years spreading it around that we are going to be hit by a tsunami and that we all need to move up around Sweetwater/Athens Tennessee. I met a guy who loved fishing here but sold his possessions and house to go up there to build a house. Sounded like they were forming a colony of some sort. He was a nice enough older gentlemen and truly believed that this was going to happen soon. As for the oil here, I can see them having to evacuate the beach for clean up if it gets really bad but I can't imagine 200 miles inland. Sounds crazy to me.

I would think if there were going to be evacuations anywhere, they would have already started them in some areas of Louisianna. That being said, havea friend who lives in the same complex as an Orange Beach police officer. He told him that they had already gotten their training and cards to stay here after they evacuate, which they plan to do if the situation gets bad enough. Said the fumes being toxic, etc are the cause for the evac if it happens. I highly doubt 50 miles inland though, much less 200.
