Default 150 lb braid as leader?

Got a spool of 150 lb braid and am wanting to use it somehow and was thinking I can use it in place of the 30lb Fluoro leader material. Does this sound reasonable for toothy fish?

yes but, isn't part of the idea of leaders are so the fish can not so easily see the leader?

Yeah, true, I'm just looking for ways to use it since my 8000 series reel broke and I am not replacing it.

Default You are looking for tangles for sure.

That plus braid won't stand up against kingfish teeth. I've used 80-100# mono for Grouper for lots of years (65 or so) I sometimes drop down to 60 for snapper. Mono is a lot easier to tie than Fluoro--in heavier tests.

When I was commercial fishing, I used 200-300# mono for leaders on my bandits.

Use it for clothesline. I have it on my catfish reels but dang, it's like masons string, anything could see it.

Tripwire material for the perimeter of your property.

Load it onto the biggest reel you still have, and then use a leader for bottom fishing or something. Or use it to hang pictures.
