Battled the elements yesterday morning. I kept warm though.Boot waders and a rain jacket work wonders. In the morning I was able to manage a black drum, and two pompanos. surf was up and the winds were extreme. Strong currents were pushing my sinkers left and right. Took off right at the first flash...thats it!!!..I didn't want to get fried by lightning there. In thePM went back and tried the east side of the pier..nothing!!! (for me)very rough...saw a bunch of surfers having a good timethough. Me and Don fished for two hrs. through the rain and all, he gotone pompano , half hr. later a double rod benda. One was a 26" red and the other one was adescent size blue fish. A totally different monster fishing in such condition. Had a great time.
