Had to break message into two
While I was in Alabama I found all the ramps between Gordon and Columbia. Man, those things are mostly long and read steep. High banks up there make for sort of scary ramps. I did get a map and plot a route to Parramore Landing which is about 35 miles from where I will be staying when I'm visiting in Alabama. Have never fish there but just looking at a map the area looks more inviting than way on up the river toward Gordon, etc. I know you have fished there a lot so any helpful hints about working the area would be helpful. I have a map but it's not all that good.

In spite of the Choctaw conditions I will probably fish cats at Bull on Wednesday, just to get out of the house and on the water.

    Hi Tyler: 1 of 2

Home this afternoon after my trip up to Alabama. Events happened so I did't have a change to wet a single line in the Hooch. Things will be different next trip up there in a couple of weeks.

On the way home I stopped by Curry Landing just for a look-see. Have never been there before. On down toward Caryville I saw a boat ramp sign just before Writes Creek. It's been many years since I have been to Writes Creek by road so didn't remember anything about the area. Found the ramp which a sign said was public but it didn't have a name. It's just a short distance up the river from mouth of Write Creek. Do you happen to know it's name....Writes Creek maybe?

River was muddy and running strong at this landing. A guy and his two young sons were just coming in about 11 AM and they said the fish had lock jaw. All they caught were a couple of mud fish. They were locals.

How about you? Been beating the water anywhere?

Tyler: Has your Dad fished Pate this season?

I was there this morning and fished from 6:45 to 9:30 and got only 1 bull bream. Big ol thing but skinny. Had 2 other bites but missed them both as I was fiddling rigging up rods. I had 2 out fishing and working on the others. All this happened the first 30 minutes and then nothing until I quit at 9:30. One bass boat on the lake.

What part of the bay do you plan to fish first? I'm thoroughly familiar with the bay east of hwy 331. There are little to no grass flats in that area. Also, I have a map of the lower river and tributaries that connect to the bay if you need a copy.

Also, Copeland's Guns and Tackle is a good source for info and bait. They are about a mile south of 20 on the west side of 331

    Hi Tyler,

I went over to Caryville yesterday to check out the catfish tournament. Got a few photos...you may recognize some of the people.
Glenn Flowers did not make it. Was told he was offshore working.
Big rain came through just before daylight and was raining most of the morning. I forgot to ask how many folks were registered.

Hi Tyler........where are you now? Just wonder if you are job hunting?

Things looking up on the river the past few weeks. Good catches of bream and bass. I don't know about cats, but plan to check out the Caryville tournament later this month.

Got a report from a guy that fished Talquin 3 days this week. Limit every day in Boy Scout longlining. Also he said this.
This is the message that was sent:

Hope your sister is Ok. Well, the good news that I see is that the males haven't even really started fanning beds. Their tails are not worn-out and most I caught didn;t even look like they have even fanned. the females have eggs but not busting. I predict a late spawn.

Hi Tyler, I'm headed over to Tallahassee Tuesday for the week and dragging the boat, maybe....to fish Talquin.. But just saw the weather report and it looks like 3 days of rain starting Tuesday. May change my mind or if I do take the boat may fish Lake Jackson. There is a ramp about 1/4 mile from my sisters house.

Can you tell me the first name of Mrs. Moore and Moore Co. Bait? Usually Lisa is there gut Mrs. Moore was there when I visited on last Thursday. Had a nice conversation with he. It's small, but this is a neat little store with stuff I like.

Hope you and the family have a Wonderful and Merry Christmas.

I have another question about long lining. What size jig do you use? I seen your video and you had a weight above jig. Also are your lines below the boat because of the weight or are they trolling behind the boat?? Thanks Danny
