Had a fair amount of action but only one keeper. At least we got some action which was nice for a change.
Bait used were all artificials. The best for me was a little 2 1/2 shad looking lure with a blade. Had it so long I have no idea what it's called or who made it.
Beautiful day. Saw may a half dozen bass and speck anglers and about 5 or 6 boats at the mullet hole in Nancy's Cut.
Launched at the bridge on 3280 today. Fished the bridge for about 30 minutes with minnows, not a single bit. Moved on down Black Creek to near the Black Creek Lodge. Fish a school of bait fish, caught only lady fish.
Then on down the creek past McDaniels to where Black Creek connected with Mitchell River. Caught a few lady fish and short specks but it's didn't last. On down Mitchell to near the mouth where the island is on the right. Fished the cut that goes over to Jollly Bay. The cut was full of bait schools being worked by feeders and birds. Caught maybe 7 or 8 rats and about 8 or 10 short specks. Partner got one speck about 17 to 18 inches, nice fish.
When that stopp we moved up to the right to connectors south mouth, middle mouth and the main river. Catch was the same rats, short specks, and lady fish. Also 3 short bass.
Quit at 11:30.

Saltwater76: Looking back was you post and just wondered if you have done any catfishing and how it's going. I'm new myself to catfishing in a focused way, but intend to put some real effort into it and see what happens. What neck of the woods do you live in?
