Got this report this morning. Not sure when it actually happened but within the past few days. Sounds like maybe a lake close to the Caryville ramp. River down to about 2 ft now so not sure where this might be.

There are a lot of small Reds around with a good one here and there ..
Speaking of Sandbars .. a friend from Chipley killed the brim up at hwy 90 .. to get to the place he had to pull over a sandbar
(not to bad about waist deep) He & partner kept 100 (they were working on a fish fry) the other boat with them only picked up
50 .. said his brim “itch” was cured.

Kevin, a good friend of mine is going into emergency surgery this morning down at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Santa Rosa Beach. I would like to go down to see him tomorrow so I think in the afternoon would be the best time. Since I will be down there I can just meet you at Ebro. Let me know the time to meet and what all I need to bring. What about bait, etc. Do we need to catch bream for cut bait or what do you normally use.

The boat is great I love it just need a spring loaded jack plate in case I hit a stump with the water lower at commanders I would slash fish the main river not sure you can launch at seven runs? water may be too low I would pick commanders you have more water/options although it is in the main river

Kevin, how about an update on your new ship?

Second, I have a new friend form PFF who lives over in Crestview and wants to come over and fish one day with me out of Comanders, but he's flexible on location. I haven't fished Comanders in several months and it looks like the water will below 3 ft at Caryville. I'm more inclined to go further down river to 7 Runs or somewhere else, but have no problem hitting Comanders.

We plan to go next Thursday. What would be your recommendation on Comanders or somewhere else? The friend is somewhat familiar form Smokehouse south, but not above Ebro.

    What way.

Hey sorry for the late reply haven't logged in in months! Hogtown can be hot at times for trout, reds, flounder but it can be loaded with bugs when you went to Seven Runs in November did you go down the old river channel downstream from the lake? there are some lakes down close to where it runs back into where it runs into the river there is good slash fishing along it when the water is lower not fishing lost lake until there is a better ramp in place just don't trust it

    Kevin,
Stopped at Hog Town this morning 9:45. Tide low and water blown out leaving wide mud shore line. Artificial oyster reef a few feet out from shore high and dry. About 8 or 10 guys reef to the ramp.

Have heard about huge catches at HogTown but never saw one until today. The guys didn't have time to fuss with a box so the fish were just thrown up on the mud flat

Had a meeting at 10:00 so had to leave. Came back at 11:15 and the guys were still there catching. All the fish that were along the shore looked to have been cleaned up and only a few were there. I did notice all of the reds that were being caught were being released.

There two guys doing the most catching were using a silver spoon with white bucktail. Others were using mirror lures and similar sinking baits and doing very well but a little less fast than these two guys.

I haven't seen anything like this going on in many years.
