this is not lousiana, its considerably more challenging. usually we try to pay attention to depth when we catch fish to try to stay in a similar depth. we use search lures such as mirro lures and top waters just to quickly cover ground. if we get a few hits or catch a few we look at waht they area offers then look for it in other places and also just stay there for a few mins and try a few other lures or possibly live bait. its all about spending time on the water and playing with lures depth grass or sand etc etc. just go fish you will find em.

Was digging through some old posts and saw some of yours. Ever do any fishing in Alabama, Mobile Bay? I've just started fishing here and it is way different than South Louisiana. I saw you mention depth. Do you just use different lures or scope out the territory with a fishfinder? I have an old but great Carolina Skiff that gets me where I need to go but got all my electronics $ invested in the Searay I'm rebuilding for offshore
