Thanks sailor. I'm taking my seniors down there. I'm a small high school band director and take my seniors somewhere every year. This will be my second trip to the beach, we went to Gulf Shores last year and had a great time. I'm guessing after that we'll be going to the beach a little more often. The ag teacher and I are building a couple rakes from stainless expanded metal, flat and angle iron. Probably be heavy, but it's not like I'm going to need it more than 3 days. No small kids, just a bunch of teenagers. There will be several of us fishing. We'll probably fish early and late and maybe all night if they are biting. Is the fishing better in the sound or on the surf at night?
Hello, just saw your question about the sand fleas in the bay off your dock. You could probably use them for redfish or sheepshead if there are any around, but I would say a better bet would be either live shrimp ($) or fresh peeled shrimp from Sextons, could get the trout to bite them. If you have kids, use squid on small hooks and you can get pin fish and catfish. Hope this helps
