The tournament didn't go too well. Over 70 people entered and only around 10 fish were weighed in. I fished the river Thursday and Friday night and didn't catch a thing. The cats are spawning right now so it's really hard to get them to bite.

I've never used any stinger or tube baits. But if I did then I would use Lightwire hooks.

Going to Talquin tomorrow. Will bring back a report!

Fish Walton, Sorry Sorry for such a extremely late response. I missed your message. I know of both places you lived. Big change Northern Maine to where you are. Madawaska got hit hard this year with winter. I am heading up next weekend for some sledding and ice fishing. I live in Windham, but our company is registered in Florida.

Got home about 3;30 pm This afternoon. Stopped a Bailey's in Chipley for late lunch. Got 19 nice keepers this morning. Several throw - backs. Started at Freeman. Fog very heavy so had to wait a while before leaving the marina. Went to Boy Scout where we caught the fish. Quit at 12 noon. Bubble gum and acid rain were the baits today. Caught 2 or 3 on Bandit. Learned a lot on this trip and hope I can get back over there real soon. Going to Seminole on Easter afternoon for a week.
Pat told us where there is good bream fishing right close to the lodge. Watched a guy catch 5 blues and channels 3 to 4 pound class only 100 yards from end of marina dock.
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Was on Charles's Skeeter with 150 kicker. That thing would hit 60. I didn't particularly like that. He cruised at 35 to 40 which was just fine. I'm a river guy, not a speed boat advocate for fishing, but it was nice getting to a spot fast. My little ship would take twice as long, maybe three times.

Curtis is correct. Freeman and Boyscout don't get as muddy as the rest of the lake when a heavy rain comes. We will be on Boyscout in the morning.

Sorry to hear about ya'll's course of misfortunate events; however, I sold the trolling motor to the guy who fished with me Saturday at Talquin. We have been taking off our hand control when we travel because we are scared it will come off. Looks like that is a good idea.

yep, sure do hope for good weather. We plan to fish Saturday and come home some time in the afternoon. My buddy Charles is taking his boat which is a 19 footer with crappie pole racks on front and back. He has fished Talquin several times.
Monday we got 15 mullet at Alaqua, but only 1 yesterday during same bite time. Strange. Got them in the smoker right now.

That's great to hear about your snowbird buddy tearing them up yesterday. Us fisherman live for those certain "days" like that. Looks like the name Litewire Hooks is spreading quickly. Good to hear for Curtis, he makes a quality product. I'd be happy with 100 crappie in one day haha.
