Ok i have heard this is an urban legend but damn man today was the first time i had women fish on my boat.luck started last night engine wont turn over.Ok i pulled the starter since a hot jump would melt the screw driver to the solenoid bolts.Completely take it apart and redo it.Now im in this for 3 hours so im getting to bed by 3 am.Now a late styart wont be so bad.
get to the ramp at 8 (LATE) and than we head out.Everything is doing good and we hit the pass.so were heading out and get to the trolling grounds.Troll a proven spread for a couple hours and NOTHING.not a hit.The nipple was lifeless.decided i wasn't gonna continue with that abuse so we moved on to a bottom spot.Someone from the forum was cool enough to let us tie off to there rig.whoever you were THANKS dont remember the boat name.well anyway after my brand new fishfinder lost 2 pins from being twisted from the cable im disgusted my fishfinder is jacked up.2000 dollar setup.
So we boat a decent sized AJ and were catching mingos let and right.Big ones. Now i get a very big ass hit that almost felt like dead weight.Im using 150 class gear and this fish is pissed.all a sudden nothing.reel up a hook that looks like a mortician needle.straightened out. These are supposed to be good hooks.I threw em all away.so now i leave a very nice rod lying there with a bait dangling and i look and the rod goes bye.250 setup gone.Ok no big deal.
Now i get a new bai and drop it down .On the way down cuda grabs the bait and hauls ass.My hands are slippery from tyhe squid so what happens.Another 250 dollar setup quickly exits my hands.Im feeling like a FU*&KKNG willy right about than since it happened so fast Now im getting pissed.
Most expensive trip ive been on.First trip with women on my boat and the shittiest.Dont get me wrong it was good company and these people were cool but damn we was having some terrible luck.No Fish to speak of of what im use to and these guys are loving it since there from indiana and this is great to them.Football size mingos 2 at a time.
I finally decided it was time to haul ass im done at that point. We get to going and sure enough hit a wave.260 dollar costas fall of my head hit the floor and crack the glass intpo 20 pieces.
Do you guys think this is an urban legend or some real shit. This was the unluckiest trip i have ever been on.

I have always heard no bill fishing with women... but man that sucks. Today I took my mom out for the first time in my new boat, its got a little rough, she ends up falling down, bruising her knee bad and almost getting seasick. I feel like the biggest piece of crap in the world. Needless to say, very short trip but skunked nonetheless. First time I have gone completely skunked in a couple years I'd say. We weren't doing any real fising but still....

| My experiences have always ben the exact opposite. Took the moms out to go snapper fishing one ime and it was too rough so stayed in the bay and limited out on red snapper and got a few grouper on a spot I lucked up on. Took my brother's GF out on her first saltwater trip and slayed the white trout, found massive schools of bull reds and did well on the lucky spot we found with mom. But, the motor wouldn't go past 3500 rpm on that trip and then there was the whole shark tournament/fishing trip where we lost the biggest grouper I've ever seen at the boat, I hurled for a few hours steady and we didn't catch crap in the end so it kind of balances out. Will, sounds like just shit luck but atleast you got out. How nasty was the water where you were trolling?

Most of the women I've taken offshore, chum all over the place. I know a few that can hang tough, though .... no bad ju-ju, either.

Not to bad.2 feet.Perfect for the right lures to ride down the ways and leave perfect little smoke trails and POP..water was semi OK not blue but not to green either. And dont say Karma either.I know sometimes im an ass on the forum but off here is completely different. This trip was for a freind in need that wanted to give a dad a good day of fishing on the water.they were great people.
also did i mention my girlfriend turned 4 of her fingers to hamburger when she decided to grab something she wasnt supposed to.yeah we were gonna take her back but she wantedto keep fishing. After 20 minutes of first aid and wipiong all the blood up she was good to go with a few tylenol.Im proud of her for sticking in there and toughening it out.I thought she was gonna get sick but she didnt.just a shitty day.Im leaving this one in the history books.

| What the hell did she grab? The prop? Best to just leave it as a bad trip. There'll be more, there'll be better ones. Hopefully none too much worse.

It works better when you only take women who are under a certain age and have certain physical attributes. A dress code helps also.

| I don't think it's a problem Will. I was on that same spot you were fishing yesterday. About 2 hours before you showed up, we were sitting there not catching much and this Twin Vee cat with an older lady a younger woman an two men were fishing near us. They were about 100 feet from our boat and all of a sudden the younger guy's reel starts screaming and a sailfish jumps out of the water. He fights it for about 15-20 minutes. They had to chase it down, but when they came back they had it. It was 78". They were using live bait like us, but they had two women on the boat, we didn't. We told them how incredible it was to watch them catch that fish. The older lady says, "you want to know how lucky he is? He also caught that 96 pound snapper a few days ago". I'd say they were pretty lucky, but i guess he might have done even better without those women on the boat.

| Dang Will, I just read your post about your luck...If I would have known all that yesterday...I would have floated you back a beer or two...lol Don't feel to bad It was just a Sh#@y day. At least your crew was having fun! They were kicking the migo's buts! They probably don't get a chance to fish like that to often being from Indiana. All I know is, we watched you bow up with that heavy class rod and wish we could have seen what was on the other end before it straightened you out You're not alone on loosing gear. A couple of years ago someone left a line dangling in the water connected to one of my trinidad's and trevala rods...all I know is there was a happy remora fish somewhere out there with some new bling, bling. The set up wasn't even a month old Hope your luck turns for the best. You can tie off to us anytime. All I know, is there was no mistaking your boat and it was good fishing with you.

| This is the guy from indiana. My name is patrick and my daughter goes to college here in pensacola. She told me that the husband of a friend of hers, chuck, was going to take us fishing while we were here on vacation but he suffered a very serious accident and broke 3 or 4 of his vertebra in a fall at work and would not be able to take us. Chuck had put up a post on this fourm so we could still go fishing just not with him and will said he would take my daughter and I. To start from the beginning I called will and he said we could go on friday. As he said in an earlier post he worked on his boat till 3am but what he left out was that he worked on his boat till 3am with three broken ribs and on his birthday just to take a couple of people he had never met fishing. Shortly after we get underway his girlfriend shredded four of her fingers and was like i will be alright lets go fishing. tough tough tough little girl. The rest of the day she was helping cut up bait take fish off hooks rig poles and anything else she could do to help the rest of us on the boat and never missed a beat even though she only had one good hand. We did not get any fish trolling which is not how it usually goes from what i hear but i was having a blast just riding around in the boat. When we got to the spot we were going to be bottom fishing there were 5 other boats there. one of the boats let us tie up to them (thanks a bunch guys) and it was nonstop action from there on. It was the most fun I have ever had fishing in my life and something that a complete stranger went way way way out of his way to make possible for a friend and a couple of tourists. I want to thank will and his girlfriend for taking my daughter and myself out and showing us one of the best times we have ever had. I also want to thank chuck for all the leg work he put in to make this a possibility. Here are a few pictures of the fish we caught. Again thanks to chuck will and his girlfriend for everything all great people in my book!!!!!!

| Sorry for your bad luck-nice report though. Got me thinking, trying to remember the last time I had a good trip with women on the boat. I'm thinking bad storms, run out of diesel, and skunked on the last three trips with the ladies. Hmmmm Better luck next time

I never heard bout women being bad luck on boats! I know mine is always good luck! Baits her own stuff, has her own setups, drinks whiskey as me- and straight out the bottle, fixes my snacks, applies suntan lotion to the tops of my feet and crevices, and more importantly- doesnt bitch or complain, doesnt get sick, and she catches fish while in a bikini!!

| I thought that women on boats were a good thing, that's why old sailing vessels had a half figure (Figurehead?) of a woman, usually well endowed, on the bow. I think it might be something else. I ended up driving on 1 motor twice Friday and ended up buying 2 batteries, burned 50 gallons and caught 1 chicken mahi, new crack in T-Top....... Not quite as expensive or painful as your day, but I feel your pain
