| Me, by buddies Nick, Jason and Seth left around 4:30 saturday morning to fish the sertoma rodeo. we ran to the pass to try and catch some hardtails and threadfins, but only had time to find a few due to the boats racing out of the pass for the bud light, luckely we caught some bait the day before. we made a run to our first spot about 64 miles southwest. we get there and find NOTHING. so we move about 4 miles south and drop our lines. as soon as my buddy nick hits the bottom his pole doubled over, fish on. watching how the fish fought i had no idea what it was, then his line comes to the surface about 20 yards away from the boat, its a nice cobia. we get him in the boat, make a few more unsuccessful drops and move again. once we got to our third spot and saw the screen blow up we knew what was about to happen. there we caught close to 15 amberjacks, a couple kings, 2 cobia, 8 snapper, 1 trigger and 1 scamp. it was a great day of fishing, and we made it to the weigh in with only seconds to spare (they were literally counting down on the mic while we ran acroos the parking lot with our fish). after saturdays weigh in we had the 1st place king, 1 2 and 3 place aj, and 2nd place snapper, not a bad day whatsoever.
my first cobia ever.
my 1st place king.
jason and nick with their jacks.
nicks 2 cobia.
me with a nice snapper and jack.
the days catch.
