yea thats an old old video.

bill....on these ranches the bigger the deer the more you pay. they probably signed up to shoot a cull buck for 500 bucks or something and he ended up shooting a 180 class deer thats probably gonna end up costing him 5k or so

havent watched the vid you posted but im guessin its with Jimmy Perlitz(sp?).  the guy that shot the buck is supposedly the ranch hand at the Perlitz Ranch.  from what i heard it was all staged.  but decent acting...

If thats not fake that will add $7500 to his bill. I was lucky enough to hunt at the Tecomate Ranch in South Texas for a graduation present and those boys don't mess around. A management buck cost $2500 and a trophy cost $10,000. They watch those deer grow for years and it costs a ton. Those guys bought a helicopter just to keep track of antler growth. The camera they use to film shows cost more than my house. If that dude was a guide he just lost alot of $ b/c they get tips. Bigger deer bigger tip. It was to close to the truck not to be staged.

If that deer is really a 180 class, it cost him more than $7500

Not $7500 total. $7500 in addition to the $2500 management cost.

Idiot is anybody that pays that kind of money to shoot a trophy buck on fenced property, where is the challenge and joy in that?  Makes me sick to think somebody actually pays that kind of money to hunt a wild animal whose population is booming across the U.S.  This just makes it harder by raising the cost for the average guy to acquire his own place to hunt whether it be through a lease or the purchase of his own land. Ok I've had my rant.

Ok i'll try not to take that personally. The way the free market society works is there is no roof to a product as long as there is a demand Obama. I do agree with the fenced in part though. The place I hunted was 10,000 acres high fenced which is hardly a pen. It was there to keep pochers out and to keep the good genectics from going next door. Now the - 1000 acres properties are bs. It's like fishing in a stocked pond and calling it sport.

You said it, unless your are a child or person who has an extreme handicap, that's not hunting, that's killing!!!  Very sad to be in a bar listening to a grown man talk about "killing" a 170-180 class at "some ranch" in west texas.  lmao!!!!  Where's the hunt, that would be like bragging about catching the 50 pound red fish at Bass Pro Shop in Destin.   Again LMAO!!!

actually it would be more along the lines of catching a 50lb redfish in the georgia aquarium. We are after all talking about 10k acre pieces of property. not just a 5 acre high fenced petting zoo

most of those big ranches out there arent your 4,000 acre leases you have around here...there are some out there that are over 10k acres...so your tellign me if they high-fenced blackwater WMA then thats not hunting....deer on that size of land will never see a fence in their lifetime

Yeah it was all staged to send to some people that were coming there to hunt as a prank. There is a website that has more of these guys. Do a search for BlueCollar hunting. There is a video of a hunt where they put a dead bobcat in the tree and the guy thinks he is alive, needless to say he shoots the thing 5 or 6 times and it dont budge.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 "Trust in the Lord, and not in yourself then and only then your paths will be straight."
