I'm supposed to take a 10 yr old fishing this weekend in the Destin Rodeo.  Often it is rough in OCT, especially the mornings.  It looks like a no go and I was curious as to whether any of you guys who keep up w/ the weather sense, NOAA is missing something.  Thx.

.FRIDAY NIGHT...WEST WINDS AROUND 10 KNOTS EARLY ION THE EVENING BECOMING NORTHWEST AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS BUILDING TO 4 TO 6 FEET. CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY MAY BE REQUIRED. .SATURDAY...NORTH WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS 5 TO 7 FEET. .SATURDAY NIGHT...NORTH WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS BECOMING NORTHEAST LATE. SEAS 6 TO 8 FEET. .SUNDAY...EAST WINDS AROUND 20 KNOTS. SEAS 6 TO 8 FEET. .MONDAY...NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS DECREASING TO 10 TO 15 KNOTS LATE. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET SUBSIDING TO 2 TO 4 FEET LATE.

Short answer is yes it will be too rough.  Tommorow (friday) looks OK.  I was planning on going over the weekend but not with that forecast.

Reefcast goes by the spot you choose (>60' of water), but here are some random lat / lon #s I checked just now OFFSHORE:

NE winds EARLY saturday, then EAST at 15 to 20 knots, seas 3 to 4' every 3 seconds Saturday ... Sunday 4 to 6'

If you want me to help you with a detailed forecast for the spots/areas you want to fish, give me a holler. It updates 4 times a day & there is an Ensemble where you can checks its stableness.

I can tell you it was 4-6 out there today. Reefcast is still hanging with Saturday and Sunday OK. I sure hope they are right!
