| Had my buddy from Sea School call me yesterday, and we decided to play hookie. Told my boss I have 'Optical Rectitus.' Meet at Bayou Texar at 0645 and headed out. The water was FLAT calm. What a beautiful day. Ran by NAS and saw a ton of schools of ladyfish bustin bait on the surface. Decided to stop and throw on them for a while. Caught a bunch on bucktails and Gotcha plugs. These were the biggest 'poor man tarpon' that I've seen in a long time. After catching a bunch, we decided to head to the Mass for bait. I let my buddy run the boat while I threw a sabiki. He decided to run over the Mass where I thought for sure we were going to hit. Got my blood flowing. Only caught 1/2 dozen pilchards and I wanted to leave. Ran to a spot in the bay and dropped 1 line, BAM, short gag. Dropped again, BAM 7 lb. red snapper. Grab the net!! no net. OK stick'em. Snapper in the box. The other three baits were used on something big, that broke leaders every time. Finshed the day running to the beach to eat lunch at Hooters. All in all, what an awesome day on the water.
Bad day fishing beats . . . well, anything but a good day fishing!

| Had a good day also . Put the boat in around 6:00 am pretty sunrise . We caught a stud sheephead and 5 flounder . Ladyfish ( skipjack) everywhere . Fished a favorite spot of mine and it seems like the large Flounder are moving cause I didn't catch anything on it moved to the sandbars and the flounder seems like were lying right in the open. Saw plenty of mullet (spring ) The roe mullet should start any day now. Next full moon I bet. Anyway had a good time today fried some flounder up with cole slaw . Just doesn't get any better. By the way good post . Nice bay snapper.

did u hit the Mass.?...did they fix/relocate that buoy yet? man that place is dangerous as it is. great report thanks.

We did not hit the Mass, but came close enough for me to get REAL nervous. Thats what I get for letting my buddy drive the boat! He definately got my attention!!!
Bad day fishing beats . . . well, anything but a good day fishing!
