Headed West of the pass to a spot a Cap'n friend boated 15 reds last week....well simply put they weren't there this week on the out going and low tide, NADA!

So headed back to the Sound to catch the tide change again, when the wind died and the water went flat and glassy I could see the fish. saw about 8 or 9, sight fished 2....again very cool to watch them shoot to the gulp bait and scoop them up.

Took some "in-water" pics while I was catching them, I'll have to work on that but its a little tough when you're by yourself. Note the Sandy Bottom and understand the water about 3ft+ deep

Dinner Red by command from my wife, was 23", 4lbs!

A nice way to end  what was a dull start!

Good report and great pics! thanks for keeping us landlocked workers entertained

Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.’’ — Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764 Team "Reel Naughty" 2007 Pirate's tourny

Really neat pics! Reds sure love those sandy bottoms. Just wondering if you through any topwaters at them?

While, yes I throw top water probably more than most and late in the day as well, at this time it just felt right to throw the jigs!

More target fishing....let me also say I was frustrated that It was past noon and  I hadn't boated a red!

That is always such a pain to try and grab the camera, control the fish and take a decent shot, but you got it done!

If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way.
