I'm thinking about heading out this weekend. Any repoprts on these areas(Nipple/Edge/131)? I'm fairly new to trolling, and any advice would be great. I've read alot on here that the YoZuri Bonito is the lure of choice, what color for this time of year/or water color? Or is that the wrong lure?

Was at the nipple last weekend.  Got a white to eat but he threw the hook quickly.

I'm thinking about going there this weekend also. Let me know what day you're heading out. I'm in a smaller boat and would like to know someone is near and if you have any problems I can be close by to help out... Just in case..... As far as lures, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm trying to figure it out as I go..

I WENT OUT LAST WEEK WEATHER WAS BEAUTIFUL SLICK WOW, WE STARTED TROLLING AROUND THE TENNACO RIG AND WENT SOUTH TO THE EDGE NOT 3 MINS INTO WE GOT A WHAOO STRIKE FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND THE GONE HIT THE BLACK AND PURPLE HIGH SPEED LURE, ALSO SAW A MONSTER SCHOOL OF MAHI AROUND 25 TO 40 PLUS LBS NO JOKE, RIGHT AROUND THE RIG GOING SOUTH WOULD NOT HIT ANY TROLLED BAITS BUT DID HIT A LIVE HARDTAIL ONLY TO HAVE A BARRACUDA SLICE RIGHT THRU THE MAHI, IT WAS A SHOCKING SCEEN. BUT YOU SHOULD DO GOOD AFTER THE FRONT PASSES AND AROUND THE TIDE MOVEMENT. IM ALSO THINKING ABOUT GOING OUT THIS WEEKEND IM IN A 21 CAPE HORN ALSO SO GET BACK WITH ME . CPT. BRANDON PRATT

For lures...not a pro but...would suggest pulling ballyhoo with islanders (blue/white).  Iilander blackholes pop nice.  Moldcraft wideranges are also pretty good staples...black/purple/silver.  The Bonito form Yozuri is a deeper running lure for the wahoo hook up.  The iilander/moldcraft seems to work for just about everything and especially mahi.  If you pull all yozuris, i would think your options are limited on hookups.  just 0.02
