| Well after my 3 year old bugging me all week about going fishing, I decided it was time! After I called almost everyone I knew to go fishing, with no luck, we put in at Archie Glover and headed to the train bridge! Fishing with a 3year old is interesting to say the least! I put on a frozen shrimp and cast it out for him! After the first 2 minutes(every single cast) he would start can I reel it in Dad? I would say not yet and then 30 seconds later the same question! Well this would repeat itself for about 5 minutes until I had enough and then say yes! For the first 1 hour this would happen. Sometimes his shrimp would be gone sometimes it wouldn't! After I hadn't got any nibbles at all we went to the I-10 bridge and decided to try our luck over there! I got a few strikes but, didn't land anything! Of course we went through the same thing with my son! Finally, I said reel it in and after no time at all he says dad I got a fish! I looked up and I will be darned if he didn't hook up with this monster! And on our smallest pole too!
He was super excited! It didn't even bend the pole but, just right for a 3 year old! We didn't stay much longer as it was getting dark but, I did manage to snap a couple more pics on the way in!
Nice shot of the sunset!
He is satisified after a day on the water! Sorry bout the quality pics taken on cell-phone!
-------------------------------------------------------------Each day is a GIFT, that is why it is called the PRESENT! 14' randall craft with trolling motor! Yeah Baby! MIKE TAVENER

flynurse (9/2/2008) that just awesome. you may have created a fishing monster. which is a good thing!! good job on taking the boy fishing.Ditto... Keep up the good work & yes, I said work, because at that age, it takes patients & work. . Just took my boy out there Friday Evening, it was slow to start the white trout started, he caught about 12 in 30 minutes , 1 black drum, 1 cat . I caught 1 , fished with fish bites & gulp shrimp.

| Good job Twinkie. There is nothing better than watching a kid fight a fish. I can give you a little advice I learned when I dated a girl with a 4 year old daughter. Bring 1 rod for them to cast and play with even if it doesn't have a hook. It is amazing how fast children learn to cast. It kept her busy for hours. Use the other rod with a small circle hook because it probably won't get much attention and you can still get a good hookset and not have to mess with gut hooked fish. The only problem I had was the kid ended up going every time I went fishing. I can live with that. Best memory was watchin the kid fight a 12 lb striped bass on my little spincaster. I won't ever forget that day even though I'm no longer with her mother. One of the best times I've ever had fishing.
