I was just curious as to how common these guys are. My buddy and I have caught two between us the past couple times weve gone out. They are a cool lookin fish and I was just wonderin if anybody else has been running into them lately as well. I know there was a post a couple days ago with a gentlemen who caught one off his boat. Anybody else seein em?

I've caught a couple off of the close in wrecks.  They're definitely cool looking fish.

This is what I thought was a small African Pompano, but it is actually a Look Down.  Not saying you guys didn't catch one, but just wanted to show you what I learned upon doing some research.

agreed capt. wes, awesome report by the way!

Like I said, I'm not saying that they aren't being caught, just throwing out something I learned.

A Juvi African Pompano looks very similar to a Lookdown but if you look at the forehead you can see that a Lookdown has a very pronounced forehead.
