from what i gather is if your state requires you to have a license and they can account for the # of saltwater fishermen then we should be exempt..the state must submit their case to NOAA to provethey are a licensing state....sounds dumb to me??

found this on one of NOAA sites

Will there be any exemptions from the registry requirement?

Anglers may be exempt from the Federal registration requirement if they hold a license or registration issued by a state that already has a program in place to account for all its saltwater recreational anglers (e.g. a comprehensive saltwater fishing license or regional angler survey program that gathers the data necessary for the registry).

And what state along the gulf does not require a saltwater fishing license?  I don't think there is one.  Another just plain dumb piece of paper put out.

Just get the info from the state and be done with it.

Looks like another smoke and mirrors gimick to get us off of their backs about using bad data.  This way, they can say they've got correct data and still do what they damned well please.

I NOT TO SURE ON THIS. IF IT IS FOR US OR THE REST OF THE COUNTRY. A MEMBER SENT IT TO ME. I READ IT BUT IT STILL SOUNDS FUNNY. BUT THOUGHT I WOULD POST IT HERE TO SEE WHAT EVERYBODY ELSE NEW ABOUT IT. IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING. I GUESS IF THEY ARE NOT MAKING UP ANY NEW LAWS THAN THEY ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOB!
