I launched at Sanders beach. It was like glass that day. I got Nicki in the front and off we go. She settled in real nice. Leaned back on the cooler and enjoyed the ride. We went into Bayou Chico to the bridge and then back out. When we got back to the mouth Nicki and I saw 4 Dolphin up close. Nicki perked up a bit seeing them but acted like she had seen them before. I cant wait for out next trip.

Dangggg... that's great! Nice pic too!!! I wish my dog would like water. Something would happen... then he would get spooked... and then fall in the water and probably freak out. Glad you can enjoy yours going!!

Man, I'd love to take my chocolate lab with me in any watercraft!! Trouble is I have to cross tie the sucker to keep him in the boat!! He will ride for about 6 paddle strokkes and then he decides that it is much easier and more convenient (for him) to swim!!

I used to go on 12, 20, and 30 mile float trips in So. MO years past and Robbie would swim and run every inch of the way! He would become best buds with everyone on the river and I only got to see him occasionally when he came back to check that I was alright!! Otherwise I would catch a glimpse of his head or body way out ahead of me as he would stop and wait until he saw my canoe or kayak and then off he went to do more exploring!!

That was the only time in his life that he would leave me behind for his own fun and games. Otherwise he would walk by my side or just ahead of me no matter if we were going a block or on a 5 mile hike. He is 12 years old now and is slowing down somewhat but I still can't get him to stay still in my 'yak or in a canoe! It's not that he doesn't like canoeing or kayaking, he just can't stand all that water around him without being right out there in it!!!
