You might remember when this accident happened... March 5, 2000.

On Southwest Airlines Flight 1455 from Vegas overshot the runway at Burbank.

The plane crashed through the airport fence, careened across the street and

ended up with a collapsed landing gear, right next to a gas station.

But that's not the amazing part - Look at the picture below.

Yep. I remember when the wal-mart gas station over here in gulf breeze opened up. Gas was 99 cents on opening day. Then next day, the gas prices went back up to $1.15 and I thought it was a rip off!

I remember as a young boy hearing my father gripe that it took $2 to fill up his VW. That was back in the early 60's.

It is pretty sad when you'd give anything to pay 3.50 a gallon and think you're getting a good deel at 3.90. I'll tell ya what bugs me is when oil shoots up $15/bbl gas follows almost immediately but the oil falls $17/bbl over the past 3 days it will take gas weeks to back off. And that's only if oil manages to stay lower.

I need to vent-

four years ago when i was 21 I got a chaparral 204 cuddy cabin with a 150 hp mercury on the back and I was king of the world. I could afford to take it out two weekends a month. I make enough money to lease a pretty nice house, payed off my car, eat drink and fish but as gas crept up my trips on the boat went down. Without use I started having problems with hydrolics, the steering locking up at the motor, water in gas and the whole host of things that go wrong with boats that sit for a long time. "wow, my temp gauge doesn't work anymore, damn". Now when I look at knowing I have to drop money into it just to not be able to afford the gas king of the world has turned into one depressed fishermen.
